In Memoriam
December 24, 1946 - July 14, 2025
Tim was hired by FTL 5/8/1978 as a DC8 F/E and continued on as a B747 F/O with FedEx at T-Day.
Of special interest to our group was Tim's involvement in getting us reconnected with Captain Orval Rector, a fellow resident in the complex that they both lived in Walnut Creek. Through Tim's assistance with Orval and his family, we were able to get Captain Orval, at 105 years old, to attend the 2023 FTLPA Reunion in San Diego.
God Bless you Tim and tell Orval we're also thinking about him today!
Below is Tim's obituary found in the East Bay Times on July 27, 2025.
Tim was the first born child of James and Catherine Seitz, followed by 5 siblings. He called himself #1 son. He put himself through college, subsisting on potatoes (he told that story so many times), and became a pilot with the Air Force. After 4 years and an honorable discharge, Tim worked for Flying Tigers and later retired from FedEx after a rewarding career. He spent over 40 happy years in Clayton enjoying walks with his beloved dog Rusty and his neighbors who kept in contact after his move to Rossmoor. He lived at the Waterford, spending much of his time at the dog park.
Tim leaves his remaining siblings Phil (Suzi), Rose Gaubert (Lee), Catherine (Rick) and Mark, 9 nieces and nephews and 12 great nieces and nephews.
We shall miss our brother and uncle and hope he’s met up with his favorite sister Carolyn and is flying once again, this time with the angels.
Above is the last known picture of Tim visiting the Hiller Museum in San Carlos, CA, November 2024.
